Gilbert Probst

Gilbert Jean Bernard Probst (born September 17, 1950 in Mümliswil ) is a Swiss economist .

Career

Gilbert Probst completed his studies at the University of St. Gallen in 1977 with a licentiate degree , received his doctorate in 1981 with a thesis on cybernetic legal hypotheses as the basis for design and control rules in management and completed his habilitation in 1986 on self-organization: organizational processes in social systems from a holistic perspective . Since 1987 he has been a full professor of business organization at the University of Geneva .

Scientific awards

  • 2006 Academy of Management Executive Best Paper Award, for "The Logic of Crisis"
  • 2006 ECCH European Case Award. Winner of the Knowledge, Information and Communication Systems Management category
  • 1988 Outstanding Scholarly Contribution Award and Best Paper of the Year Award in the category of papers on Human Systems Management, Systems Research Foundation
  • 1984/85 John S. Latsis Prize for excellent scientific work
