The Provincial away 281 even or shortly N281 is an important road link in the Dutch province of Limburg .

Provinciale Weg 281 starts at the roundabout with Provinciale Weg 278 near Nijswiller . At the former Bocholtz motorway junction, today the Simpelveld exit due to dismantling, the N281 becomes a motor road ( Sign 331 - Motorway) with a speed limit of 100 km / h. Since many motorists suspect a motorway here, the speed is often exceeded here. That is why there are “star boxes” on the median for speed control. The autoweg leads past Heerlen with the name Antwerpseweg and has the function of an urban motorway with numerous exits. The N281 runs parallel to the Autobahn 76 and joins this Autobahn at the Ten Esschen junction.
