Gilberto tatting
Gilberto Magalhães Occhi (born July 24, 1958 in Ubá , Minas Gerais ) is a Brazilian lawyer , former bank president and minister of various departments.
Life
Occhi studied law at the Universidade Vila Velha in Vila Velha in the state of Espírito Santo , which was followed by postgraduate studies, then one in business management at the Universidade de Brasília and one in foreign trade at the Universidade Católica de Brasília . He embarked on a banking career at Caixa Econômica Federal , the Brazilian federal savings bank , and became one of the 12 vice-presidents there in 2013. He was considered a career official.
Political career
Occhi is a member of the Progressistas (PP), which are regarded as right-wing conservative and economically liberal . The President Dilma Rousseff appointed him for their second cabinet in 2014 to Ministro das Cidades , German cities minister . He held this office for about eight and a half months, then Rousseff appointed him Ministro da Integração Nacional , German Minister for National Integration . He held this office from January 1, 2015 to April 13, 2016. He had submitted his resignation because his party had spoken out in favor of Rousseff's impeachment and strongly supported it.
Under the new President Michel Temer , he was appointed President of the Caixa Econômica Federal with effect from June 1, 2016. Temer brought him to his cabinet as health minister on April 2, 2018 . The succeeding President Jair Bolsonaro did not take him into his cabinet of ministers, but appointed Luiz Henrique Mandetta as his successor.
Controversy
In October 2017, Occhi was denounced by Lúcio Bolonha Funaro , a suspect in the Operation Lava Jato investigation , to the General Public Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of having received monthly bribes while he was still vice-president of the Caixa, also to give them to politicians from the progressive movement to distribute. Occhi vehemently denied this.
