Gilgöd is a district of the municipality of Reischach in the Upper Bavarian district of Altötting .

location

The desert, consisting of a property, is located in a forest clearing, approx. 1.5 km west of Reischach . A local connecting road leads to the AÖ 11 district road and to Reischach.

history

In the 13th century at the latest, the property was built on a cleared forest. The place was first mentioned in a document for the first time in 1404.

The original place name was "Ed" (= wasteland, wasteland). But because there was a second place of the same name in the parish of Reischach, it became "Ed bei Hitzing". In the first third of the 16th century the name changed to "Giged", after the first name of the owner at the time, "Giig" (= Aegidius).

Until the municipal reform , Gilgöd was part of the municipality of Arbing . This was incorporated into the Reischach community on July 1, 1971.
