Arbing is a parish village in the Reischach community in the Altötting district . A parish of the same name existed until 1971.

location

Arbing is located about three kilometers north of Reischach in the Isar-Inn hill country on the AÖ 32 district road .

history

Arbing was first documented around 1135. Ulricus de Arbingen from the noble family of the same name probably had the first church built there, of which the Romanesque nave walls still exist today. After several extensions of the church consecrated to St. George, Arbing finally became its own parish in 1896. The parish has been part of the Reischach / Arbing parish association since 1981.

From a political point of view, the two villages Arbing and Waldberg formed a closed district until 1848, the Hofmark Arbing and Waldberg . The municipality of Reischenbach emerged from it, which in 1871 consisted of 22 towns and had 466 inhabitants. On July 3, 1913, it was renamed Arbing Municipality. The parish area was about 1184 hectares in 1961 . In the meantime, the place originally named Thal was listed in the documents as Oberthal and Unterthal , which increased the number of places to 23. The population of the community was 583 in 1961. In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , it was dissolved on July 1, 1971 and fully integrated into the community of Reischach.
