Gill Dennis

Gill Dennis (born January 25, 1941 in Charlottesville , Virginia , † May 13, 2015 in Portland , Oregon ) was an American screenwriter .

Career

Gill Dennis was a first class directing student at the American Film Institute in 1969 and later taught there. In the same class with him were Terrence Malick , Tom Rickman and Paul Schrader . Gill Dennis is best known for the film Walk the Line, about the country singer Johnny Cash , for which he wrote the script.
