Gillis van Tilborgh
Gillis van Tilborgh (* around 1625 in Brussels ; † 1678 there ) was a Flemish painter.
Tilborgh, student of David Teniers the Elder , became a master there in 1654 and died around 1678. In the manner of his master and Joos van Craesbeke, he painted genre pictures from peasant life (weddings, tavern scenes, fights, etc.). One of his most important works was the peasant wedding (in Dresden).
From 1666 he was curator of the picture collection in Tervuren Castle near Brussels.
