Ginka Gyurova
Ginka Gjurowa ( Bulgarian Гинка Гюрова , English Ginka Gyurova ; born April 15, 1954 ) is a former Bulgarian rower who won two Olympic silver medals.
Life
At the 1975 World Championships in Nottingham, the four-man with helmswoman in the cast Marijka Modewa , Reni Jordanowa , Liljana Wassewa , Ginka Gjurowa and helmsman Kapka Georgiewa won the silver medal behind the boat from the GDR. The following year, the Bulgarian four-man in the same line-up also won the silver medal at the premiere of the 1976 Olympic women's rowing in Montreal .
After a break in 1977, the 1.74 m tall Gjurowa entered the 1978 World Championships in Hamilton with Katja Wassiljewa in two without a helmsman and reached fourth place, in 1979 in Bled Gjurowa and Vasiljewa took sixth place. At the 1980 Olympic regatta , the Bulgarian four-man with Ginka Gjurowa, Marijka Modewa, Rita Todorova , Iskra Velinova and helmsman Nadezhda Filipova won the silver medal behind the East German four-man as in 1976.
