Gino J. Cavallini (born November 24, 1962 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Italo - Canadian ice hockey player , who in his active time from 1982 to 2001 among others for the Calgary Flames , St. Louis Blues and Québec Nordiques in the national hockey League , as well as the EV Landshut in the German Ice Hockey League . His brother Paul was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Gino Cavallini began his career as a hockey player in the team at Bowling Green State University , for which he was active from 1982 to 1984. Then the attacker received on May 16, 1984 a contract as a free agent with the Calgary Flames , for which he played in the National Hockey League as well as for their farm team , the Moncton Golden Flames , in the American Hockey League in the following year and a half . On February 1, 1986, he was given to the St. Louis Blues together with Eddy Beers and Charlie Bourgeois in exchange for Joe Mullen , Terry Johnson and Rik Wilson , for which he was on the ice for a total of six years before he was released in February 1992 whose league rivals Québec Nordiques was committed.
From 1993 to 1996 Cavallini played for the Milwaukee Admirals in the International Hockey League . He then went to Europe, where he received a contract with EV Landshut from the German Ice Hockey League , for which he played for two years as well as for the EC VSV from the Austrian Ice Hockey League . With the Carinthians he won the national championship in the 1998/99 season . The Italian-Canadian ended his career at the age of 38 after the 2000/01 season, which he had spent at EHC Biel from the Swiss National League B.
