Gion Martin Darms

Gion Martin Darms (born August 20, 1823 in Glion ; † June 29, 1907 there ) was a Swiss Reformed theologian , pastor , hymn book editor , song translator and choir founder.

Life

Gion Martin Darms was the son of the marriage of Danuet and Elisabet born. Camenic. He was pastor of the Evangelical Reformed parishes in Castrisch (1849–1863), Flem / Flims (1863–1879), Glion and Sagogn (1879–1906) and Sagogn (1906–1907).

Darms acted as a promoter of popular, church and choral singing. He was also the founder of the Ligia Grischa men's choir and its conductor from 1852 to 1887.
