Giorgio Morniroli

Giorgio Morniroli (born January 20, 1936 in Bern , † July 20, 2017 in Locarno ) was a politician of the Lega dei Ticinesi .

Career

Morniroli was born in Bern and passed the state examination in 1963, from 1972 he was FMH specialist in neurosurgery . At the beginning of his career he worked in neurology and performed invasive examinations such as myelographies, pneumoencephalographies, carotid angiography with puncture before CT scans became possible at the Ospedale Italiano in Lugano in the early 1980s .

As a politician in 1991 he joined the Lega dei Ticinesi and was the only member of the Lega in the Council of States from 1991 to 1995 . He was co-president of the Swiss Medical Association against Drug Prohibition and a member of the LiUM (Free Academy of Human and Neurosciences). For 15 years he was President of the Medical Order of the Canton of Ticino (OMCT). He lived in Minusio until his death .
