Giorgio Moroni Stampa

Giorgio Moroni Stampa (born June 12, 1948 in Lugano ; legal domicile there ) is a Swiss lawyer .

Life

Giorgio Moroni Stampa studied law and is a lawyer and notary based in Lugano.

In 2001 he was appointed governor of the Swiss Lieutenancy of the Knightly Order of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem by Cardinal Carlo Furno . After his retirement in 2010 he was made honorary governor. Cardinal Grand Master John Patrick Cardinal Foley appointed him on January 1, 2011 as Governor General for the European Lieutenancies. Cardinal Grand Master Edwin Frederick O'Brien appointed him on June 26, 2016 in Rome as a Knight of Collar, the highest rank in the Papal Knightly Order of the Holy Sepulcher.

At the "Consulta 2018" in the Vatican, the General Assembly of the Papal Laity Order, Jean-Pierre Marie de Glutz-Ruchti was elected Vice-Governor-General and his successor for Europe.
