Giovanni Battista Orsini (Johanniter)
Giovanni Battista Orsini (also Jean-Baptiste des Ursins, Iohannes Baptista de Ursinis, Baptista Ursinus ; * unknown, † June 8, 1476 in Rhodes ) was an Italian nobleman and from March 4, 1467 until his death the 39th Grand Master of the Order of St. John . Before that he was Grand Prior of the Grand Priory of Rome of the Order from 1442 to 1466 .
Around 1470 he had the fortress Feraklos on Rhodes restored in order to be armed against a feared attack by the Ottomans . This took place under his successor d'Aubusson .
