Giovanni Battista Tortiroli
Giovanni Battista Tortiroli (* 1621 in Cremona ; † 1651 ibid) was an Italian Baroque painter .
He began as a student of the Mannerist painter Andrea Mainardi , then he went to Rome to work and develop his style further. In Rome he studied the work of Raffael . He was particularly fond of Jacopo Palma's color scheme and moved to Venice . In his painting Child Murder of Bethlehem , formerly in San Domenico in Cremona, you can see imitations of Raphael, but above all the Venetian style.
