Giovanni Battista Venturi

Giovanni Battista Venturi (* 1746 in Bibbiano , † 1822 in Reggio nell'Emilia ) was an Italian physicist .

He is the discoverer of the Venturi effect named after him . He also developed the Venturi pump and the Venturi nozzle . The Venturi process also bears his name.
