Giovanni Palmieri dos Santos , called Giovanni , (born June 23, 1989 in Santos ) is a Brazilian football player . The left foot predominantly plays as a left defender.
Career
Giovanni started his career in the youth team of Fluminense Rio de Janeiro . Here he was unable to assert himself at first and initially went to lower-class clubs. After his then club Criciúma EC had to relegate, the player returned to Fluminense on loan in 2015. 2016 then took over in FLU. The season he was still on for the club, but was loaned to other clubs in the following years. In December 2018, it became known that he was moving to AA Ponte Preta . The contract had a term of one year. On July 5, the contract was prematurely terminated by mutual agreement. Three days later, EC Bahia confirmed Giovanni's commitment. The contract ran until May 31, 2020.
