Giovanni Weiss
Giovanni Weiss (born December 10, 1980 in Hamburg ) is a German jazz guitarist .
Weiss, who comes from a Sinti family with many musicians living in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg , has been playing the guitar since he was twelve. Together with Kohé Reinhardt, a nephew of Django Reinhardt , as the second solo guitarist, Robert Weiss ( rhythm guitar ) and Jeffrey Weiss ( double bass ), he founded the band Django Deluxe , which released their first album Wilhelmsburg in 2012 . In 2013 Weiss was awarded an Echo Jazz as “best guitarist (national)”. For the second album, Driving , the one with the NDR big bandwas created, he also received an Echo Jazz in 2016. Weiss runs a scrap metal company full-time .
