Giovanni di Niccolò Mansueti (* around 1465 in Venice ; † March 26, 1527 there ) was an Italian painter during the Renaissance .
Life
There is little reliable information about his life. He posed as a student of Gentile Bellini and was influenced by Vittore Carpaccio . His most important work is the “Miracle of Saint Mark and the True Cross” (1494) in the Venice Academy of Art . This, as well as other of his large paintings, reflect contemporary architecture and clothing and give a true picture of Venice of that era.
