Laeken Summit 2001

The Laeken Summit from 13. bis 15. December 2001 was a meeting of the European Council in Laken in Brussels . In its final declaration, the “ Convention on the Future of Europe ” was convened, which, under the leadership of Valéry Giscard d'Estaing , was supposed to show the way for a future of the European Union and finally to present a draft for the European constitution . The summit was accompanied by demonstrations.
