Girdler Iceland (of English girdler , belt makers' ) is a small island in the archipelago of Biscoe Islands off the Graham Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 160 m southwest of Cliff Island and 13 km west of Prospect Point on the south side of Mutton Cove .
Participants of the British Graham Land Expedition (1934-1937) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer John Rymill mapped them and gave them descriptive names. The island is named after its geographical location, which girdles the entrance to Mutton Cove.
