Gisbertus Cornelius de Jong

Gisbertus Cornelius de Jong († July 9, 1824 in Rotterdam ) was the third Old Catholic bishop of Deventer from 1805 until his death .

Life

De Jong was a pastor in Rotterdam before his episcopal ordination . After the death of his predecessor in the Episcopate, Nicolaas Nelleman , he was appointed bishop of Deventer, received on 7 November 1805 in Rotterdam by the Archbishop of Utrecht Johannes Jacobus van Rhijn the episcopal ordination .

Like his predecessors, de Jong had no jurisdiction and did not reside in the city of Deventer , but remained a pastor at the Paradijskerk in Rotterdam until his death . He died on July 9, 1824.
