Wilhelmus Vet

Wilhelmus Vet (born May 29, 1781 in Hilversum , † March 7, 1853 in The Hague ) was the Old Catholic Bishop of Deventer from 1824 to 1825 .

Life

He was born the son of Cornelis Vet and Gertrudis Willems Lam. From September 1, 1794 he attended the seminary in Amersfoort . He was ordained a priest on December 18, 1803. He worked in Amsterdam (1803 to 1855), then in Rijswijk and at the same time in Eikenduinen near Scheveningen . On October 14, 1814 he was appointed archpriest ( dean ) and elected canon on August 18, 1818, the inauguration did not take place until April 29, 1819. In February 1829, Vet was dean of the metropolitan chapter.

On 7 October 1824 he was appointed bishop of Deventer, received on June 12, 1825 The Hague , the episcopal ordination by the Bishop of Haarlem , John Bon .
