Johannes Bon

Johannes Bon (* 1774 ; † June 25, 1841 ) was the fifth old Catholic bishop of Haarlem and the only one in the 19th century who was not excommunicated by the Pope .

Life

Until his appointment as bishop, Bon had been pastor in Haarlem . Because of the Napoleonic Wars , he was only able to receive episcopal ordination on April 25, 1819 , although the chapter in Haarlem had already elected him in 1815.
