Gisela Ley

Gisela Ley (born April 17, 1940 in Düsseldorf ; † April 5, 2013 in Leverkusen ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending school, she trained as a travel agent and then worked in a travel agency in London and Düsseldorf. Employment in the citizen advice of the Bundestag member Bruno Wiefel and in an architectural office followed. From 1988 Ley worked at the Rheinische Landesklinik in Langenfeld.

Ley has been a member of the SPD since 1969. She was and is represented in numerous SPD bodies. She was also a member of the public services, transport and traffic union and the workers' welfare union .

From June 1, 1995 to June 2, 2005 Ley was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . She was directly elected in the constituencies 022 and 024 Leverkusen II - Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis I.

From 1975 to 1992 she was a member of the city ​​council of Leichlingen (Rhineland) and from 1985 to 2001 a member of the district council of the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Gisela Ley died on April 5, 2013 in Leverkusen-Opladen.
