Shukhov -Gitterschale in Vyksa under construction, 1897

A lattice shell is a special supporting structure and roof construction, consisting of a shell that forms a flat structure. It can be single or double (spatially) curved and absorb loads both vertically and in its plane.

The lattice shells consist of braids in the structural sense, in which many relatively weak, linear links are linked by many connections. They lie on a surface that surrounds a room . The result is a space frame of overall high strength . The lichen is then often transferred literally in the large scale, but usually in quite an abstract way.

The supporting structure is mostly made of steel . The holding profiles of the aluminum disks are on top .
