Career

In the club

Giuliano Giannichedda began his professional football career at AS Sora in the Italian Serie C2 , where he spent three seasons.

In 1995 he moved to Serie A for Udinese Calcio . In the 1996/97 season he was a regular at Udinese for the first time and was initially noticed by many fouls and yellow cards .

For the 2001/02 season Giannichedda moved to Lazio . When his contractual relationship there expired in the summer of 2005, he went from the capital club to the Italian record champions Juventus Turin for free . While he was considered essential at Lazio, he was initially just a reservist at Juventus as his position was filled by Emerson and Patrick Vieira . After Juve's forced relegation to Serie B because of the involvement in the Italian football scandal 2005/06 and the associated departures of many top performers, Giannichedda played a more important role in the team in 2006/07 . He made 20 league appearances and managed, with the team coached by Didier Deschamps , to get promoted back to Serie A.

In July 2007, his contract with Juve was dissolved, Giannichedda then moved to AS Livorno .

In the national team

Giuliano Giannichedda made three international matches for Italy under national coach Dino Zoff in 1999 .
