biography

In 1976, Dalla Santa's drawing career began in Lancio Story magazine with more or less adult drawings. In 1985 he worked with Caterina Mognato , with whom he would later often work at Disney, on a western comic.

In the late 1980s he distanced himself from his adult style and switched more to a typical comic book style. In 1989 he moved to Mondadori publishing house to draw Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse stories. Right at the beginning he was noticed by his distinctive style, which has similarities with Romano Scarpas .

He drew several longer stories in the earlier years of his career, such as: B. The seven wonders of the world (published in Germany in LTB 167) in cooperation with Maurizio Amendola (where Dalla Santa drew parts 1, 3, 5 and 7 and Amendola part 2, 4 and 6) and the Drachenland trilogy ( Drachengold , Der Ritter without fear and nobility and Der Geist aus der Kanne , published in Germany in LTB 197, 203 and 226).

At the turn of the millennium, the publisher lost interest in overly long stories and from then on Dalla Santa drew mostly “normal” long stories (approx. 30 pages, but not infrequently also about them). He still used characters from the Mouse and Duck universes evenly.

Dalla Santa died unexpectedly on April 29, 2011 at the age of 60.
