Giuseppe Mor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Giuseppe Mor (born March 31, 1853 in Trento ; † February 27, 1923 there ) was an Italian writer.

Mor tried his hand at writing the standard Italian language, but then self-taught himself the dialects spoken in Trentino , in which he then wrote his works. He is considered to be the creator of the dialect poetry of this region.

He was an astute critic of the social conditions in Trento who strongly advocated the Italianità Trentinos. He belonged to a group of secular and liberal writers in the city, which was sharply differentiated from Catholic-conservative writers like Vittorio Felini .
