Glück im Winkel settlement complex

Glück im Winkel is a non-profit housing estate in the Upper Bavarian city of Bad Reichenhall .

The buildings are under monument protection and are entered in the Bavarian monument list under the number D-1-72-114-30 .

history

Glück im Winkel was built between 1919 and 1925 by the Bad Reichenhall non-profit building cooperative. The executive architect was Karl Burkhart. The co-builder was Mayor Sebastian Stolz , who was also a co-founder of the non-profit building cooperative.

description

Glück im Winkel consists of three sub-units. The row of ground-floor houses (house number 3–12) in the west with gables , small house gardens and wooden sheds is striking . On the eastern side there are three loosened groups of ground-floor terraced houses (house number 1 + 2, 15–17 and 18–20) similar to those on the west side. The northern end directly on the Gruttenstein below the powder tower is a larger residential building (house number 13 + 14) in the alpine home style .

Glück im Winkel branches off in a northerly direction from Peter-und-Paul-Gasse at the Peter-und-Paul-Turm and leads back to it in an arch. Glück im Winkel is not entirely suitable for multi-lane vehicles. In the north the complex is bounded by the Gruttenstein, in the west it borders on the ensemble Obere Stadt . In the Glück im Winkel area, part of the historic city ​​wall ran between the Powder Tower and the Peter and Paul Tower. A city gate of the same name was located directly at the Peter and Paul Tower.
