Glacis is an administrative district of the Seychelles in the north of the island of Mahé . The uninhabited Mamelles Islands and the small Brisan Rocks also belong to the district .

Residents

The population of the Glacis district grew from 3,576 (2002 census) to 3,833 (2010 census), with 1,881 women and 1952 men living in the district. With 3,219 followers, the Roman Catholic Church is the most widespread in Glacis.

economy

Most of the people in the region work in agriculture , administration , construction , transportation and other service sectors. The tourism is of great importance for Glacis, the beaches on the island of Mahé, including the Glacis Beach, are popular with tourists.
