Glamsbjerg was until December 31, 2006 the capital of the municipality of the same name on the island of Funen in Denmark . The community extended over an area of 91 km² and last had 5924 inhabitants (2006). A good half of the population lived in the main town of the municipality. On January 1, 2007, the municipality was merged with Assens, Haarby, Tommerup, Vissenbjerg and Aarup, creating the new Assens municipality . It is part of the Syddanmark region .

Glamsbjerg, on the railway line between Odense and Assens, was established in 1884 in connection with the expansion of the railway network on Funen. In the center of the village there are still several houses that date from around 1900.

Today Glamsbjerg houses the local rural police, a library, a doctor's center, a retirement home, dining facilities and several schools. One of the largest employers is Kerry Ingredients & Flavors. She makes cheese powder and flavors.

The open-air museum in Gummerup, south of Glamsbjerg, built in 1931 , functions as a local museum of local history, while the Škoda Museum, which opened in 2001 and is housed in an old barn of the Krengerup Castle, presents various models of the Czech automobile brand made between 1937 and 2004.
