The Lamberts glass factory was founded in 1887 by Laurenz Lamberts and is now a family business in the fourth generation. The glassworks is the only non-group glass factory in the world that produces all four types of cast glass. According to its own statements, Lamberts is the only glass factory in Germany and Europe that produces profiled glass in all production steps within Europe. The company headquarters and production facility is Holenbrunn , a district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge .

history

Laurenz Lamberts bought the company premises on May 23, 1887, and the company was founded in the same year. The choice of Wunsiedel was not an arbitrary one. Reasons for the location were, on the one hand, the regionally available raw materials . Even today, the resources used for production come directly from the region. The second important reason was the expansion of the Weiden – Oberkotzau railway line and the connection from Holenbrunn. The station was essential for the company for the transport of glass products.

production

The glass factory produces Lamberts profile glass is the only group of unbound cast glass producer, patterned glass, wired glass and antimony-free solar glass .

Since 1996 and still the only architectural glass manufacturer, all glasses have been manufactured with the help of an oxygen-fired glass melting furnace and sold as EcoGlass . Thanks to optimized production processes, up to 50% old glass is used in the glasses and 100% of the glass scrap is recycled. The company is constantly working to further reduce CO 2 emissions. Since 2011, the entire production and administration have been operated entirely with green electricity from Bavarian run-of-river power plants . An environmental product declaration is provided for all glass products .

Projects

World-renowned architecture firms plan with Lamberts Glass. In particular, the profiled glass LINIT U-Glas is used in numerous architectural projects around the globe, including museums, theaters, shopping centers, hospitals, office buildings and sports stadiums, such as:
