Holenbrunn is a district of Wunsiedel in the Upper Franconian district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains in northeastern Bavaria. In 2000, 1034 people lived in Holenbrunn.

Holenbrunn is located in the Fichtel Mountains in the east of the city of Wunsiedel. Neighboring places are Bernstein , Göpfersgrün , Hauenreuth , Sinatengrün , Wintersreuth , Wintersberg and the city of Wunsiedel.

history

  • first mentioned around 1500
  • 1818: Hauenreuth, Holenbrunn, Juliushammer, Wintersberg and Wintersreuth became one municipality.
  • 1877: The completion of the Weiden – Oberkotzau railway initiated the development of the industrial site.

On January 1, 1978, Holenbrunn was incorporated into the city of Wunsiedel.

The Wunsiedel-Holenbrunn train station is on the Weiden – Oberkotzau railway line . In the past there were the secondary railway lines Holenbrunn – Wunsiedel – Tröstau – Leupoldsdorf and Holenbrunn – Selb . The routes have since been closed; the route is used as a cycle path.
