Schneckenhammer is a district of the district town of Wunsiedel in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains ( Upper Franconia ). In 2000 eight people lived in Schneckenhammer.

The two properties are located 1.8 kilometers east of the core town of Wunsiedel, in the Röslau valley on the Röslauweg hiking trail of the Fichtelgebirgsverein .

history

In 1499 the “Hammer ob Wynersreut” was mentioned in the land register of the six offices, which supplied the Wunsiedler harness makers with sheet metal. In the middle of the 17th century, the hammer mill was converted into a grinding mill, which ceased operations in 1980.
