The parish village of Bernstein is part of the district town of Wunsiedel in the Upper Franconian district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains in northeast Bavaria . In 2000 there were 239 people living in Bernstein.
Geography and transport links
Bernstein is located six kilometers northeast of the core town of Wunsiedel on the state road St 2180, into which the St 2965 joins from the south. The A 93 runs east of the village . The Göpfersbach flows to the north and east .
history
The Bernstein settlement is located on a historic long-distance trade route from Franconia to the Bohemian region. In 1221 the documentary witness was called "Albertus de Bernstein", and in 1389 the "Rorer zum Pernstein" appeared. In 1818 the political community Bernstein was founded, in 1978 it was incorporated into Wunsiedel.
