Glen Innes Severn is located in the northeast of the state about 630 km north of the metropolis of Sydney and 370 km southwest of Brisbane . The area comprises 38 hamlets and hamlets, including Emmaville, Furracabad, Glencoe, Glen Elgin, Glen Innes, Mount Mitchell, Red Range, Shannon Vale, Stonehenge, Tent Hill, Wellingrove, Wellington Vale and parts of Ben Lomond and Deepwater. The council is headquartered in the town of Glen Innes , home to approximately 5,200 residents.
