Glacier divide

Under glacier current sheath is defined as a branch of striking an obstacle glacier . The term corresponds to the bifurcation in waters. An example of a glacier divide can be found in the Valais Alps with the Brunegg Glacier, where part of the glacier flows into the Turtmann glacier , but another part ends in a separate glacier tongue .
An important prehistoric example of a glacier ridge is the Jasmund peninsula in the northeast of Rügen . During the last phase of the Vistula Ice Age, this divided the current of the Nordic inland ice into the Belt and Oder Ice Streams.
