Glycerol monostearate
Glycerin monostearate is a mixture of monofatty acid esters of glycerin , mainly stearic and palmitic acid , with varying amounts of di- and tri-fatty acid esters of glycerin and contains at least 40% glycerin-1- (palmitate, stearate).
Extraction and presentation

Glycerin monostearate is a white, solid, waxy mass that is greasy to the touch, with a melting point not below 55 ° C. It is practically insoluble in water but soluble in diethyl ether.
use
Glycerine monostearate is used in pharmacy as a non-ionic emulsifier, consistency enhancer for semi-solid preparations, glidants and lubricants in tablet production, anti-stick and dispersant in coating preparations, additive to slow-release drugs. Otherwise, the main area of application is in the food sector as a declarable additive.
