Gnosjö is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Jönköpings län and the historic province of Småland . It is the capital of the municipality of the same name .

Gnosjö is one of the places with the highest immigration rate in Sweden. Every second resident is either an immigrant or has a foreign family background. The same applies to the entire Gnosjö municipality, in which immigrants also make up over 50 percent of the population. This means that, in percentage terms, most of the people of non-Scandinavian origin in Sweden live there.

Gnosjö train station

The city coined the term "Gnosjöandan", which is known in Sweden and describes the economic development in the place. The term is easiest to translate as "Gnosjö-Geist". He describes the prevailing potential there in numerous small businesses in conjunction with the integration projects that enable and improve the lives of immigrants there. The term was trademarked in 1995 by the locality. This funding for building up the domestic economy has been in place since the 1940s.
