Go Too is the third and final album by the band Go .
background
Stomu Yamashta , who founded the group Go with Steve Winwood , Michael Shrieve , Al Di Meola , Klaus Schulze and others, replaced Steve Winwood, who had left the group, with Jess Roden and also changed the style of the group for the album. It was also Linda Lewis hired as a singer. Together with Paul Jackson and the Martin Ford orchestra, the album combined different soundscapes.
The album begins with the piece Prelude , a synthesizer piece that is shaped by Klaus Schulze's play. This is followed by Seen You Before, a jazz-funk fusion piece with a remarkable solo by Al Di Meola.
The next track, Madness , is a funk track that ends with the sound of waves fading into the romantic song Mystery of Love . The piece is characterized by Al Di Meola's moving guitar solos and the emotional singing of Roden and Lewis.
Wheels of Fortune is characterized by complex rhythms and almost pure jazz, while Beauty strikes a romantic note again. The album ends with a funky piece, You and Me , and Ecliptic , a synthesizer piece reminiscent of whale songs.
reception
Allmusic awarded four out of five possible stars; Dave Thompson wrote in his review: The natural and elegant details help to interweave the very different elements of the album tightly, it gives the set cohesion and each track the feeling of a larger draft, one that connects East and West, space rock to Classical and fusion to rock in the broadest sense. A sensational album, which is still impressive today .
