Goat the Head is a Norwegian death metal band.

history

The band was founded in 2005 by members of the black and dark metal bands Thorns , Troll and Keep of Kalessin . In 2006 the EP Neander Tales was released , in 2007 the debut album Simian Supremacy was released . The album has been described as "average Death Metal" with tendencies towards Groove Metal . In 2010 the second album Doppelganger followed on Aftermath Music , where u. a. also Runemagick had already signed a contract.

An approximately 150-second long music video was released for the 19-second song Darwinian Minions . In this some figures disguised as Stone Age people are shown, who are digging up a television set and converting it into a mobile home that has been half submerged in a swamp . You reactivate the television and then play the actual song. After they have played this to the end, the trailer explodes.

style

On Metalstorm.net the style of the band was described as " Fun Death Metal", the singer sometimes sounded like Chris Barnes , at other times like a "bubbling drinker"

The band's lyrics deal with clichés about the Stone Age and cavemen , but there is also a humorous examination of the metal scene .
