Goderdsi Schwelidze ( Georgian გოდერძი შველიძე ; born April 17, 1978 in Rustavi ) is a no longer active Georgian rugby union player . He played in the position of the pillar and was most recently under contract with the French top 14 division Montpellier Hérault RC .

Career

Schwelidse began his career with what was then the top 14 league club AS Béziers. He moved to ASM Clermont Auvergne in 2004. Schwelidze played his most successful season in 2007 when he won the European Challenge Cup with ASM Clermont Auvergne and reached the final of the French championship , which was lost. For the 2008/09 season he moved to Montauban.

Schwelidze made his debut for the national team on November 14, 1998 with the game against Ireland . He has so far been used in 62 international matches for Georgia , scoring 35 points (7 attempts ).
