Hans Goderis
Hans Goderis (* around 1600; † before 1643) was a Dutch marine painter .
Life
Goderis is a little known marine painting painter. He was the son of Joris Goderis and the Maurintgen Lybaerts. His activity as a painter can be traced in Haarlem between 1622 and 1638 . Since 1623 he was a member of the local Guild of St. Luke . According to the information, he was quite wealthy, so that based on the few pictures assigned to him, it is assumed that painting was more of a hobby than a profession. Nevertheless, he must have had a certain reputation, because at an auction in 1632 of pictures of his hand that are not described in more detail, he earned 671 guilders . In 1648 he was mentioned by Schrevelius in his Harlemias and referred to as a pupil of Jan Porcellis .
