Poppy Montgomery
Poppy Montgomery (* 15. June 1972 in Sydney , New South Wales as Poppy Petal Emma Elizabeth Deveraux Donahue ) is a Australian actress .
Life
Like her siblings, she was named after a flower ( Poppy means corn poppy ). For her work as an actress, she chose her mother's maiden name, Montgomery.
At the age of 14, she dropped out of school and worked in her father's restaurant. She left Australia when she was 16 and traveled the world for two years until she came to the United States at 18 . In Los Angeles , she first had to practice an American accent before she was cast in 1994. A year later she made a brief appearance in Devil in Blue alongside Denzel Washington and Don Cheadle . This was followed by guest appearances on the television series Party of Five and New York Cops - NYPD Blue .
She had her breakthrough in 2001 with the title role as Marilyn Monroe in the miniseries Blond, based on the novel by Joyce Carol Oates . From 2002 to 2009 she was part of the regular Without a Trace line-up . From 2011 to 2016 she played the lead role of Carrie Wells in the crime series Unforgettable .
She gave birth to a son on December 23, 2007. The father is Adam Kaufman , with whom she dated from 2005 to 2011. A daughter followed on April 23, 2013 and a second son on November 11, 2014. The father is her partner Shawn Sanford.
