Godmanchester is a small town in England just south of Huntingdon . It has about 5500 inhabitants. Godmanchester is on historic Ermine Street , which was the link between London , Lincoln and York . While the city is now part of Cambridgeshire , it used to be part of Huntingdonshire . In Roman times, the Durovigutum settlement existed here at the intersection between Ermine Street and Via Deviana. The city was first mentioned by King John of England in 1212 . One of the most famous structures by Godmanchester is the Chinese Bridge . It crosses the Great Ouse River . Godmanchester is a twin town of Wertheim .
