The Goepfert Bluff is a rock cliff at the Walgreen Coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd lands . On the Bear Peninsula , it rises at the eastern end of Grimes Ridge above the tongue of the Holt Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped the cliff using aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy in 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1977 after Lieutenant Eric R. Goepfert, head of the winter detachment of the US Navy support units in Antarctica on the McMurdo- Station in 1976.
