The Goethe Street is about 1.1 km long city road in the Munich district Ludwigsvorstadt . It leads from Bayerstraße (at the level of the main train station ) south to Lindwurmstraße .

The street is characterized by Turkish shops and is therefore sometimes affectionately referred to as "little Istanbul" . The University of Munich Clinic is located in the southeast .

Goethestrasse was named after the poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in 1865 .
