Goetheweg (Fichtel Mountains)

The Goetheweg is a hiking trail in the Fichtelgebirge , named after the German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe .

The white and blue marked hiking trail of the Fichtelgebirgsverein in the Fichtelgebirge Nature Park (Northeast Bavaria) is intended to commemorate Johann Wolfgang vom Goethe's visit to the Ochsenkopf summit on July 1, 1785. The Goetheweg was laid out in 1923. It begins in Karches (part of the municipality of Bischofsgrün , district of Bayreuth) on the B 303 / E 48 / Fichtelgebirgsstraße and leads steadily uphill to the Weißmainfelsen and after three kilometers to the Ochsenkopf ( Hohes Fichtelgebirge ).
