The Gold River is a river on Vancouver Island in the western Canadian province of British Columbia .

The Gold River has its source on the southern boundary of Strathcona Provincial Park . It flows first in a westerly direction through the smaller lakes Chetwood Lake and Eena Lake , then it flows into the Gold Lake and flows through it. To the west of this the direction changes to the south and is largely retained. The river crosses the Gold Muchalat Provincial Park , south of the park the Muchalat River flows into the Gold River. Past the community of Gold River , the river flows into the Muchalat Inlet, which flows over the Nootka Sound into the Pacific Ocean .
