Reviews

The taz on Chronicle of a Vanished City : "As important and successful as the comic book is as a documentary book, the aftertaste it leaves behind is bland. Although Dibou often emphasizes her love for Qurna in a very striking way, in the end one does not doubt that she and Golo found a place of longing there and then lost it again. The chronicle of a vanished city, however, always strikes a maternal patronizing tone, which wants to teach the Qurnavis that they should reflect on their own cultural roots. Dibou in the comic as the keeper of these Culture has become so persistent in refusing to learn Arabic. She cannot completely shed the arrogance of the culture on which she has turned her back. But it is good that this is documented too. "
